SHIPS MID MARCH THROUGH END OF APRIL.
SORRY, WE CANNOT SEND SPRING TUBERS AND PLANTS TO ALASKA, HAWAII, AND FOREIGN COUNTRIES
Sweet and tender spears have a higher sugar content than green asparagus making this a favorite of the home gardener. The deep burgundy color and tender texture is almost completely stringless (young spears are often eaten raw). Zones 4-9.
The best time to set roots is April 10 to May 20. Roots are set 12-14" apart in a trench 6-8" below ground level in rows 4-5' apart. Initially covered with 2" of soil with the remainder of the trench being gradually filled throughout the rest of the year. Light cutting possible the year after the bed is established. Take care in locating this planting as it could last a lifetime. Large one year old roots.
