Vigorous, great flavor

I've been doing business with Pinetree for a long time. They have always provided excellent customer service, accurate descriptions and superior varieties. The lettuce leaf basil was no exception. Vigorous, leafy, and a great flavor balance. Just the right combination of standard basil flavor with just enough anise to sweeten it a little.

Too Tough

Produced abundant big beautiful leaves, but they were a little too tough to use fresh e.g. in caprese salad.

Excellent Basil

This is the king of basil's with its large leaves and stately appearance. Easy to grow, with a height of about 12 inches, this basil is not only attractive but performed well and is deliciously fragrant. We use for quick harvesting for pesto but this can be used for much more. Delicious and will always have a place in our garden.
