Bronze Fennel

2

Foeniculum Vulgare Var.

A dramatic landscape plant as well as a culinary herb. The brownish bronze color which deepens as the season wears on, is truly unique in our experience. The flavor and use are similar to those for regular fennel. Mustard yellow umbel shaped flowers appear late in the season, following with the flavorful seeds. Plant toward the edges or borders of vegetable gardens, it not a good companion when planted to closely with other vegetables, especially beans, tomato, dill, and carrots.

    Versatile

This bronze fennel seems to grow almost anywhere. It tastes good and it's great forage for catapillars/butterflies.
