Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow Viola

This variety behaves in a way that we have never seen before in an ornamental. The blooms change color as each one matures from a creamy white to a medium blue and eventually a dark purple. With each passing day, the display is very different. Plants are 6 inches tall with 3/4" blooms and stay in bloom for about 8 weeks. Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow is also a welcome addition to borders.

Germination: 7-14 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 65-70ºF

Seed Planting Depth: Sow on the surface and lightly cover the seed

Starting Indoors:  Start indoors 8-12 weeks before the last frost. Provide 65-70ºF soil temperature. Transplant apart after the last frost, 6-8” apart.  

Sowing Outdoors: Early spring, late summer through autumn in areas with mild winters. Sow a few seeds every 6-8". Thin to the most robust seedling, or sow seeds close together in a row and when thinning out the seedlings transplant them to other places in the garden.

Care: Water seedlings regularly until established. Amend soil with compost before transplanting. Deadhead to encourage more flower production. Mulch and keep well watered during dry spells. Apply a liquid fertilizer every 2-3 weeks or use a time-release fertilizer at planting time.
