SUYO LONG CUCUMBER (65 days)

4

Germ 6-10 days
14” long oriental, “burpless” cucumber. Fruit is 1 1/2” in diameter and deeply grooved. Growing up a trellis will produce a large number of straight cukes though some will curve and twist in the most amazing way. A nice, sweet flavor. 20 seeds

Indoors- Individual biodegradable peat/cowpots 1/2” deep, 3-4 weeks before last frost with soil temperature 70 degrees. Transplant after last frost without disturbing the roots

Outdoors- 1/2” deep after last frost in warm soil at least 70 degrees

Harvest- Pick daily to keep the harvest flowing.

Tips- Plant in fertile soil amended with compost. Mulch and keep well watered. Trellising the vines allows for good air circulation and takes less space than hills and provides shade for heat sensitive crops like lettuce.

Suyo long cucumber seeds

I have been growing this cucumber on a trellis for 10 years! My 69 year old neighbor says it is the best cucumber he has ever eaten . JUL Cullman, Al.

One of my FAVORITES now!

Grew these last year for the first time on a 6 ft bamboo teepee and the were prolific producers of excellent tasting long slightly curved cuks.. We had a crazy summer in zone 5 Michigan and i grew these in full sun & the intense heat did not wilt these plants or hurt them at all. These produced delicious cucumbers until falls frost and were not bothered by powdery mildew or other diseases.. I did not even peel these as the skin is not bitter. These are one of my new FAVORITES to grow every year from now on.

Wouldn't want to be without this cucumber.

We've grown this for the past 3 years and it is by far our favorite cuke. Grown on a 4 ft high fence the cucumbers are long and straight and easy to pick. No need to peel and nearly seedless. Very prolific.

Great heirloom cuke

A permanent member of my annual summer garden. Produces heavily if kept picked. Not phased by our extreme heat and humidity here in the south. Delicious in salsa, salad or sweet pickle slices/chunks.
