Germ 7-14 days
An improved Sugar Snap. Very tall, with better resistance to powdery mildew, thicker and plumper pods (and more of them). Can out produce Sugar Snap, with a comparable, sweet flavor. Matures up to a week earlier than the old Sugar Snap. 200 seeds

PLANTING:

Outdoors- Sow 1” deep and 1-2” apart in early spring with soil temperatures 40-70 degrees.

Tips- Adding inoculant with rhizobium bacteria will increase yields. Plant again, two months before last frost date for smaller fall harvests. Varieties with vine lengths over 3 feet require support.

Sugar Snap Peas

Peas are very healthy and tall. Excellent choice for our moderate climate. Plan to order again next year.

The peas were up about

The peas were up about two inches, when a big buck came for a snack. Will try another planting in the fall. We have had a lot of rain and many things have not done well. Will plant chard and lettuce in the cold frame for fall.

Pinetree Garden Seeds

Hi Jane - Darn those pesty creatures out there! So sorry to hear that the Buck took your peas out. Very frustrating. Glad to hear that your other things have done well. Pinetree Garden Seeds

DISSAPPOINTED

Our friends recommended Pinetree as we used other seed vendors in the past. Our sugar snap peas never germinated!

poor germination

Even planting twice (10 foot double-width row, 6 inches apart) I only have about 8 plants. They haven't produced yet, so I can't speak to the quality of the fruit. The deer think the plants are tasty, though!
