Sungold Tomato (F1 Hybrid, 60 Days)

27 reviews

Great "tomatoey" flavor and very sweet, an 8 on the brix scale. Fruits are nearly 1 inch round globes which turn a very attractive golden orange when ripe. Productive vines provide very high yields. A customer favorite!

15 seeds

Solanum lycopersicum

Germination: 7-14 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 70-85ºF.

Seed Sowing Depth: 1/4” deep

Starting Indoors: 6 weeks before last frost. Provide 75-80ºF soil temperatures. Sow 2-3 seeds per cell/pot, thin to the strongest seedling or use the 20 Row seedling flat, transplanting into individual pots when seedlings get their 3rd set of leaves. Fertilize the seedlings every 7-10 days with a liquid or water soluble fertilizer, diluted to ¼ of suggested measurement. Transplant out after last frost. Space 24-36" apart

Sowing Outdoors: Only in areas with very long growing seasons. Sow after last frost.

Harvest: When fruit is red (or color of the variety planted) and firm.

Tips: Plant in fertile soil, amended with compost, mulch and provide even moisture. Plant deeper than they were growing in the containers as it makes a stronger roots system. Apply a light compost tea every few weeks. Do not apply excessive nitrogen, which can promote excessive foliage and poor fruit set.

Fast Start

The Sungold tomato seeds sprouted within 5 days. The seedlings are sturdy and growing nicely under hoops covered with plastic. In ground by 5/15/20 despite nights in low 30s. Now starting to bloom.

Good value and selection of

Good value and selection of rare and odd varieties. The Tomatoes are up in the starting trays but not in the garden yet up here in Wisconsin.

I've given you this feedback

I've given you this feedback before! I haven't even started the seeds yet - this will happen in the latter part of March. I will plant the seedlings in late May and anticipate the harvest starting near the end of July. WHY DO YOU ASK ABOUT HARVEST AT THIS TIME OF YEAR IN THE MIDWEST??!!

Pinetree Garden Seeds

These are the tastiest cherry tomatoes ever. I grow them in cages but even so, they are very rangy. They tend to crack but are still worth it!
