SHIPS MID MARCH THROUGH END OF APRIL

SORRY WE CANNOT SHIP POTATO TUBERS TO: AK, HI, ID, APO, PR and FOREIGN COUNTRIES.

(100-110 Days, Longer for full sized potatoes )

Late season. A specialty gourmet potato developed by the University of Maine. Pinto gold has a red and yellow “pinto type” skin pattern with creamy yellow flesh. A great potato for the home grower, farm markets and restaurants. It may be harvested early for a smaller fingerling type potato or left in the ground for large baking type potato. Tubers can develop somewhat irregular shapes in extreme heat.

Excellent roasted but also good boiled, pan fried and baked.

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS:

Plant whole or cut into pieces (2-3) eyes each. Allow pieces to air dry for 24 hours. Place 6” apart in rows 3’ apart. Cover tuber with soil. Continue to cover as the vines grow by hilling soil, leaves, straw, or compost over the tuber. Leave only small portions of the growing plant exposed to promote more potatoes.

Maine Certified Seed Potatoes

All of our seed is Maine certified or foundation seed that has been field tested throughout the growing season. Samples from each field have been tested for potato virus. Two pounds of potatoes will plant approximately 8’ row, 12 sq. feet, or 10 hills.

    Pinto Gold Potato

I've planted the Pinto seed potatoes and they have sprouted and are growing. I'll have to wait until I harvest them to determine how productive they are
