Lemon Grass

This fragrant grass is the one most often used in perfumes but it is also good for flavoring food. We like to plant it in a flower bed and have even placed it in a large container, mixed with flowers and herbs. The plants grow to 3 feet plus in height. Has a natural germination of around 40-50 percent.

Perennial, Zone 9-11

Germination:  7-21 days, 

Seed Planting Depth: On the surface, press into the soil, needs light to germinate 

Starting Indoors/Outdoors:  Start indoors 6-12 weeks before the last frost. Provide 65-70 degree soil temperatures. Transplant 18-24" apart. 

Light Needs:  Full sun

Soil Needs:  Lemon Grass needs average soil
