POPPY - BREADSEED PINETREE MIX

4

Papaver somniferum

Breadseed poppy. The 3 foot tall plants with blue green foliage carry an abundance of lovely 3 inch, papery blooms in shades of purple, dark pink, and light pink. Some are double and some are single. The seed pods that follow the blooms can be as big as golf balls and provide a bounty of brown poppy seeds for use in baking. G8-10

POPPY - BREADSEED PINETREE MIX

Early impression as of mid April 2019 in central Tennessee. I started most of poppies in small peat cups. Nearly all if not all germinated. We removed the peat pots at transplant time and all are thriving at this time. We had a few doubles in the peat pots and they survived being separated out too. The few I direct sowed are up but smaller due to our very cool late March. I'll strive to post my impressions of them when they bloom.

Better than none

Only one seed took. I check on it every day...wish there were more. Hope it makes it through winter. I’ll go for plants next spring,

Poppies

Missed early spring planting time 2018. Will hold these seeds over to very early spring next year. Came through mail very fast.
