Verbena Bonariensis

Lavender-colored flowers borne in umbels sit high atop 2-3' tall thin stems making a perfect cut flower. The open airy habit and self-sowing make this a wonderful addition to a wildflower garden. From Buenos Aires, a perennial for zones 7-9.

Verbena bonariensis

I cold stratified the seed and had wonderful germination. Plants are still small but I will transplant into pots soon. I love Pinetree Seeds. I have ordered from them for years. My overall experience has been very good.

Everything I order from you

Everything I order from you all is first rate! I have shopped with you for many years and will continue to do so. You are one of my main seed sources, and your selections are great. Thank you

Dull, Mega Dud

Verbena bonariensis was very slow to grow once germinated, but having seen it floating whimsically above other flowers in other gardens, I gave it a chance. This particular strain of seeds produced flowers that could barely be seen. They were practically without petals, and the color was drab and visually receding. This Verbena has a reputation for reseeding, so I have pulled them all up, not wanting seed to germinate in the coming years. If any do germinate in the garden, I will consider them a **** and compost them pronto. It looks like a **** in the garden anyway. If you like Verbena bonariensis, look for a different strain than this one.

Not sure I'd grow these again

They are quite tall - about 4 feet with the smallest head of flowers. They don't look anything like the photo here. its too bad your site doesn't allow posting photos with the reviews. I think it would be useful when ordering seeds to see photos and reviews.
