Snow white petals and large lemon-yellow trumpets sing out like the newly arriving snowbirds in the early spring garden. An older variety, introduced in the 1950s, with outstanding growth and blooming quality season after season.

PLANTING GUIDE

Narcissus - Trumpet Daffodil 

Perennial, Zones 3-10

Bulb Planting Depth: 6”,  plant pointed end up

Height: 16-20”

Spacing: 5-6 bulbs per square foot

Light Needs: Full sun to light shade

Soil Needs: Average to fertile, well-drained

Bloom Time: Early to Mid-spring 

Uses: Flower beds, rock gardens, containers, cut flowers, wild gardens and naturalizing, under trees and shrubs, on the edges of woods or garden space, deer-resistant 

Care: Amend soil with compost before planting bulbs. Feed with a granular flower bulb fertilizer at planting time or in the spring when the leaves emerge. Cut back spent flowers and allow foliage to die back naturally before removing foliage (4-6 weeks after flowering). They will produce small bulbs, “offsets” that can be divided from the main bulb and transplanted after a few growing seasons.
