Paperwhites are a relative of narcissus and a favorite for indoor forcing, especially during the cold winter months. Clusters of white star-shaped flowers hover gracefully above the foliage and offer a sweet, musky fragrance. They are simple to grow; place them in a bowl, pot, or decorative container with soil or pebbles and watch them grow before your eyes. Paperwhites require no chilling period if you live in a warm southern climate, zones 8 and above, and can grow outdoors, blooming in early spring.
