White Russian Kale (50 Days)

Striking frosty green foliage & white veining is tasty at any stage due to its tolerance to cool & hot climates. Hardy and tenderly sweet after the fall weather sets in, extending your growing season. Looks beautiful planted for baby greens with Red Russian kale for a lovely mixed greens salad or for an ornamental edible border.

PLANTING

Brassica oleracea

Germination: 3-10 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 70-85ºF.

Seed Sowing Depth: 1/2” deep

Starting Indoors: 4-6 weeks before last frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per cell/pot. Thin to the strongest seedling. Fertilize the seedlings every 7-10 days with a liquid or water soluble fertilizer, diluted to ¼ of suggested measurement. Transplant a week or two before last frost. Space 12-18" apart. Sow in midsummer for fall crops. 

Sowing Outdoors: Starting in spring when soil temperature reaches at least 55ºF. Sow 2-3 seeds every 12-18”. Sow closer to harvest baby greens. Thin to the strongest seedling per space. Sow in midsummer for fall crops. Germination is slower at lower soil temperatures.

Harvest Pick young leaves starting at 8-10". 

Tips: Plant into a fertile, well drained soil.  Leaves become very sweet after frost. Use thinning’s or sow a heavy seeded row every 10-14 days for baby greens.

Not sure what you’re asking for here...

I think your seed packet volumes are kind of skimpy. I had to reorder some items because I didn’t feel like there was enough seed to meet my family needs. Otherwise, I love the product.

Prolific Seeds

Seeds sprouted well and seedlings doing well. Now just need spring to finally come so I can plant them outside

Flavor and spring regrowth

This is the best flavored kale of the 4 varieties I've grown. But what has really impressed me is the springs 'raab' or regrowth from the plants that overwintered under straw. It is now June 7 and I am still harvesting succulent leaves even while it is bolting. Will definitely save seed and plant again!
