Topper Turnip (35 Days)

This variety is grown primarily for the greens. There tend to be 7 tops which are dark green, crisp, and delicious, particularly when harvested young. This variety is resistant to aphids and mildew. Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep and 3 inches apart as soon as the ground can be worked and continue throughout the season.

Brassica rapa 

Germination: 5-7 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 60-75ºF.

Seed Sowing Depth: 1/2" deep

Sowing Outdoors: Starting in early spring through late summer. Sow 1/2-1" apart, thin to 3-6" apart, soon after the seedlings emerge. Sow every 7-10 days for a continuous harvest. 

How much does a packet plant: 8 foot single row

Harvest: Leafy greens and roots from baby to full size. The younger the roots the more tender better flavor.

Tips: They need rapid growth for optimum results. Provided fertile soil and consistent moisture. Amend with compost at planting time if needed.
