2

Germ 7-14 days
English Heirloom mid 1800’s
This adorable little shell pea is extra compact and perfect for growing in containers or in the garden. Growing to 10-12”, its growth habit makes for easy to harvest full size pods with no support needed. Such an easy pea to grow, sow the seed then harvest without the hassle of staking up or trellising. 50 seeds

PLANTING:

Outdoors - Sow 1" deep and 1-2" apart in early spring with soil temperatures 40-70 degrees.

Harvest - Pick every day for continuous harvest.

Tips - Adding inoculant with rhizobium bacteria will increase yields. Plant again, two months before last frost date for smaller fall harvests. Varieties with vine lengths over 3 feet require support.

Excellent pea - it will now be one of my main go-to plants

I first planted these in January 2017 (Little Rock AR). The germination rate was excellent and the young plants did not have any trouble with the frosts we received in Jan and Feb. We had unusually warm weather in March and I started harvesting these in late March. It is now early April and they are coming on strong (I ate a bunch raw and cooked today April 10.) They taste wonderful to me, both raw and cooked. The plants are short and stout, so although the harvest may not be as huge as with tall plants, there are no hassles with support and I can fit these in closer to other plants as I have very limited space and much desire to grow many kinds of plants. I have some of these in a 12 inch pot, some in the ground and some in a hay bale. All are doing well. I believe I will be growing these as my main pea plant now. Thanks to whoever developed them and thanks to seed suppliers for having them.

Fantastic

Planted these last year in my E.B., they did very well...was harvesting peas daily. Ate some fresh, cooked some and had enough to freeze for later. Very tasty garden pea, no trellis needed
