Stevia is a tender perennial best grown as an annual. Mature plants are 3 feet tall. The leaves are 200 to 300 times sweeter than sugar. Stevia is native to South America where its name Kaa he-e means sweet herb. If grown as a house plant, it will go dormant in the winter.
