ROSSO DI VERONA RADICCHIO (92 days)-Discontinued

1
This red chicory, popular for centuries in Italy, makes a good fall crop in American gardens. It should be started in late June or July. Initially, the elongated leaves will be green, but they will turn red and form a loose, open head as days shorten in autumn. Plants can also be brought into the cellar for forcing in winter. We’ve had luck with leaving plants in the garden over the winter with a light mulch for spring harvests. Flavor is delicate, slightly bitter, and unique. 200 seeds
