Prezzemolo Gigante D' Italia Parsley

2

Petroselinum crispum

This parsley, which can be started indoors, direct seeded or grown in pots, always provokes a lot of comment in our trial gardens. Just about everyone says "That's a lot sweeter than the parsley I'm familiar with", and it is. A flat leafed type, it is not all that "Gigante", maybe a foot high. The dark green leaves, however, are very large and meaty with a remarkable flavor that is good all the way through the season.    600 seeds

Love this parsley!

I've grown this large Italian parsley for years. It's flavor is very nice, and grows in a variety of conditions & soil types. In 2017 for the first time ever, I had 4 out of 5 plants bolt! We did have a very hot, dry spell, and I'm thinking perhaps I didn't water them enough. I just let them continue flowering, and the small bees enjoyed the blossoms.

Best yet

I found this parsley to be much more vigorous than most varieties I have grown in the past. I had tons to share with others, even from my tiny city garden. Very good flavor, and stood really well past frost. Did well in partial shade as well.
