Potato 'Caribou Russett'

Early to Mid-Season. Named after the most Northeastern city in the United States, Caribou Russet was Developed by the University of Maine breeding program. A cross between ‘Silverton Russet’ and ‘Reeves Kingpin’. Described as having “high yields, mid-season maturity, and moderate common scab resistance”. It is also resistant to golden nematode race Ro1 and is moderately resistant to Verticillium wilt. A versatile potato with great flavor, it is excellent for baking and mashing. (85 Days)

PLANTING 

Plant whole or cut into pieces (2-3) eyes each. Allow pieces to air dry for 24 hours. Place 6" apart in rows 3' apart. Cover tuber with soil. Continue to cover as the vines grow by hilling soil, leaves, straw, or compost over the tuber. Leave only small portions of the plant exposed to promote more potatoes.

MAINE CERTIFIED SEED POTATOES

All of our seed is Maine certified, foundation seed that has been field-tested throughout the growing season. Samples from each field have been tested for potato viruses. Two pounds of potatoes will plant approximately an 8' row, 12 sq feet, or 10 hills.
