COBAEA - MONASTERY BELLS

A zone 9 perennial which we grow as an annual. Originating in Mexico, known as the Cup and Saucer vine or Cathedral Bells, this plant has strong tendrils by which it attaches itself to its support. The 2" flowers are a bell shape and hang gracefully on lush foliage. The colors range from a muted mauve to a dusty lavender, making this a good choice for a classic cottage garden. Grow in a container so it can be brought in for the winter.

Germination:  21-30 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 70-75ºF

Seed Planting Depth:  Sow on the surface and lightly cover the seed. Nicking the seed or soaking it for a few hours aids in the germination

Starting Indoors:  Start indoors 6-10 weeks before the last frost. Provide 70-75ºF soil temperatures. Transplant after the last frost, 12-18" apart. 

Sowing Outdoors:  Not recommended
