An interesting grass with fine leaves capped by a small round seed head that makes each clump of grass look like a fiber optic lamp. Grows upright while young and drapes as it matures. Adds texture to mixed containers and can also be grown as a houseplant. Also known as Fiber Optic grass.

Germination: 7-10 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 65-70ºF

Seed Planting Depth: Sow on the surface, needs light to germinate.

Starting Indoors:  Start indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost. Provide 65-70ºF soil temperature for germination. Transplant after the last frost, 8-12” apart

Sowing Outdoors: Not recommended

Growth Habit: Clumping mound

Height and Width: 8-10” x 12-18”  

Spacing: 8-12” apart

Light Needs: Part sun 

Soil Needs: Average, likes wet soil

Approximate days to Flower: 80-95 days

Uses: Container accent plants, houseplants, in-ground plantings near water gardens or ponds. 

Care: Do not allow it to dry out. Keep soil moist. Trim back to create new growth if needed.
