Lighthouse Purple Salvia

Intense deep plum purple spikes have a high impact of color all season. We planted these behind low growing flowers like petunias and zinnia making for a lovely mix of color. Very showy and easy to grow.

Annual 

Germination: 7-21 days

Seed Planting Depth: Sow on surface, lightly press in

Starting Indoors:  Start indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Provide 65-75 degree F soil temperature. Transplant into the garden after the last frost. Water seedlings regularly until established. 

Outside Sowing: After last frost, when soil is over 65 degrees F. Only in areas with long growing seasons.

Growth Habit: Columnar, upright

Height and Width: 24-30” x 10-12”

Spacing: 10-12" apart

Light Needs:  Full sun, light shade 

Soil Needs:  Average, well drained

Approximate days to flower from seed: 75 days

Uses: Patio containers, bedding plants, established plants tolerate drought, low maintenance, long lasting color, deer resistant.

Care:  Mix compost into the soil at transplanting time. Keep transplants watered regularly until established when it will tolerate drier conditions. Fertilize with a liquid fertilizer every few weeks. Blooms profusely and removing dead flowers keeps the plant looking fresh.
