We were very impressed with this kohlrabi from a prominent Dutch grower. If you start from transplants, this and kale will be the first cole crops you harvest in just 40 days from transplanting. Exterior is an attractive medium purple and the interior a crisp, clear white. Flavor is fine, delicate for kohlrabi. We continued harvesting over a 7 week period and by the end, the size of the globes exceeded 1pound, and were not at all woody.
Brassica oleracea var. gongylodes
Germination: 7-10 days
Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 60-75ºF.
Seed Sowing Depth: 1/4" deep
Sowing Outdoors: Starting in spring when soil temperature reaches 60 ºF. Sow seeds 1-2" apart, thin 3-8” apart. The larger the bulb size the more space. Sow in mid to late summer for fall harvest.
How much does a packet plant: 4-6 foot single row
Harvest: Bulbs from spring plantings under 2-3” for the most tender and sweet bulbs. Fall plantings can survive frosts and can be harvested when they are larger.
Tips: Plant in fertile soil, amend with compost before planting if needed. Grows best in the cooler weather of spring and late summer. Summer heat makes the bulbs woody and dry. Adequate moisture is needed for optimum growth.

I really like this variety. I’ve tried others but this is the only one I grow.
Near 100% germination rate. Beautiful plant, early harvest, great taste. Best kohlrabi I've grown. A+ rating. Highly recommended.
Pre-soaked seeds showed great germination!
this was the best kohlrabi we have ever grown and i have tried a lot, it was thin skinned and crispy and stayed that way, buying again
