Joan of Arc crocus has snow-white flowers and appears lovely either by itself or growing among the other purple, orange, and striped crocuses we offer.  They are commonly planted in flower beds, under trees and shrubs, and lawns- multiplying every season and providing years of spring color.

PLANTING GUIDE

Crocus vernus

Perennial, zones 3-9

Bulb Planting Depth: 3”

Height: 4-6

Spacing: 12 bulbs per square foot

Light Needs: Full sun to light shade

Soil Needs: Average to fertile, moist well-drained

Bloom Time: Early spring 

Uses: Flower beds, rock gardens, containers, wild gardens, and naturalizing, under trees and shrubs, on the edges of woods or garden spaces, deer resistant 

Care: Amend soil with compost before planting bulbs. Feed with a granular flower bulb fertilizer at planting time or in the spring when the leaves emerge. Cut back spent flowers and allow foliage to die back naturally before removing it (4-6 weeks after flowering). Will produce small bulbs, “offsets” that can be divided from the main bulb and transplanted after a few growing seasons.
