HEMLOCK POASHJA YARN (FOREST GREEN)

2 reviews

Peace Fleece – A small New England fiber company with a mission.

“We work to support pastoral communities that have been historically in conflict with the US. Currently we are working with the Navajo to offer fair market prices for the Ramboulliet sheep wool raised by families on the Reservation. Our yarn is made of this wool blended with a domestic fine wool and mohair for strength. We love what we do, and we hope you will too.”

Our selection of Peace Fleece worsted weight wool yarn is offered in a variety of beautiful colors and is blended with mohair and Rambouillet sheep wool from native and non-native American ranchers making it incredibly warm. With washing and use, the yarns will dramatically soften and fluff up. Gauge: 4 stitches per inch on US #8 (5 mm).

200 Yards/4 oz. Skein

Peace Fleece is wonderful!

While yarn is not exactly a seed, it is the seed of a new garment. So far I have knitted a back and a sleeve of a sweater, hoping to have the rest done by fall. I love working with this yarn; this wool is a delight to work with and will be to wear, and I am also warmed by the good intentions of the Peace Fleece endeavor. Thanks for offering Peace Fleece in your catalog!

Knitting with Peace Fleece Yarn

I'm busy knitting my yarn into an over-sized sweater for myself, and it's going quickly. I am finding occasional bits of vegetative matter embedded in the yarn, but by paying attention, I'm able to pull it out with no problem. It looks like hard-wearing yarn which is perfect for my purpose. If the sweater is comfortable, I may order more for another project. Back to my knitting!
