Dwarf Mix Strawflower

This dwarf variety is only about half the size of regular strawflowers. Blooms are also smaller, but come in a broad color range, with oranges, yellows, and rose. Makes a fine bedding plant as well as an everlasting.

Germination: 7-21 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 70-75ºF

Seed Planting Depth: Sow on the surface and press into soil, seeds need light to germinate.

Starting Indoors: Start indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Provide 70-75ºF soil temperature. Transplant after the last frost, 12-15" apart. 

Sowing Outdoors: Direct sow after last frost, only in areas with long growing seasons

Growth Habit: Upright

Light Needs:  Full sun

Soil Needs: Loose, rich, well-drained

Uses:  Flower beds, cut and dried, everlasting flowers 

Care: Water seedlings regularly until established. Amend soil with compost before transplanting. Harvest flowers often for bouquets or for drying. Dried flowers- harvest flowers when they are partially open then hang upside down in a dark room with good airflow.
