GREEN TIGER ZUCCHINI / SUMMER SQUASH (F1 HYBRID 55 DAYS) *Unavailable*

Germ 7-10 days
Plants are compact and open so you will produce a lot of zucchini, but you will need a large pot. Fruit set is continuous and as long as you have some insects around, as will be the harvest. Dark and light green stripes are similar to Striata d’ Italia, but these squash are smaller and more delicate with a nutty flavor. 15 seeds

PLANTING:

Indoors- Plant in individual biodegradable peat/cowpots 1/2”-1” deep, 3-4 weeks before last frost with soil temperature 70 degrees. Transplant 36” apart after last frost without disturbing the roots

Outdoors- 1/2”-1” deep after last frost, in warm soil at least 70 degrees. Sow a few seeds per space/hill with 24-36”.

Harvest- Check and harvest a few times a week. Cut or kindly twist off fruit, starting at a 3-4”.

Tips- Plant in fertile soil amended with compost or well rotted manure and keep well watered. They benefit from growing on black plastic and by using row covers for weed, insect control, and more rapid growth. Fertilize on a regular basis by watering with compost tea. Sow every few weeks for a continuous supply.

I was late getting them in and with the weather we’ve been having they have been slow to grow. Just recently got second leaves but will let you know if and when I get some vegetables!

Hi Ava - we have experienced the same slow growth here in Maine as well. Was a very strange Spring, to say the least. Please update us when you get the chance. Pinetree Garden Seeds

    Green Tiger not germinating

Bought Green Tiger as well as Zephyr squash to grow this year. The Zephyr have germinated very well but not so with the Green Tiger. I am on my third try with no luck so far. Planted my third try a few days a go so keeping my fingers crossed.
