A legendary root from Vermont that is a cross between a rutabaga and turnip. Developed in the late 19th century by John Gilfeather of Wardsboro. Large, oblong shaped roots have green shoulders, white flesh and edible greens. Flavor and texture is excellent, sweet and smooth, improving after a frost. A good storage crop for a root cellar.
