GERMAN ORANGE STRAWBERRY TOMATO (85 days)

5

Indeterminate These unique tomatoes are shaped just like a strawberry although at 8 to 10 ounces they are much larger. The color is a deep orange with a crisp sweet flavor. German Strawberry is an ideal tomato for slicing. 25 seeds.

PLANTING:

Indoors- 6 weeks before last frost, 1/4” deep with soil temperatures 75 degrees. Liquid fertilize seedlings every 7-10 days. Transplant out 24-36” apart after last frost when soil is 55-60 degrees and night temperatures are over 45 degrees.

Harvest- When fruit is red (or color of the variety planted) and firm.

Tips- Plant in fertile soil, amended with compost, mulch and provide even moisture. Plant deeper than they were growing in the containers as it makes a stronger roots system. Apply a light compost tea every few weeks. Do not apply excessive nitrogen, which can promote excessive foliage and poor fruit set.

It's real name is Orange Strawberry

Forgot to mention this before! seed companies adding German to this tomatoes name are incorrect. This tomato goes only by Orange Strawberry!

Amazingly good!

This tomato did not disappoint! great solid flavor grown Hydroponically outside in Southwest Florida. Not many tomatoes fair well in Hydro and can be mushy, but this one I had expected good results and it delivered and then some. Gold Medal and Sungold were equally as good in hydro!

Our favorite tomato

This tomato has had a place in our garden for several years now. It is sweet, mild in acidity and beautiful in color. It is a meaty tomato without much gel, and you can put a one inch slice in your sandwiches. It is not mushy or mealy- just perfectly meaty in texture. Production was moderate until I learned how to pollinate my tomato flowers with an electric toothbrush and then all my heirloom plants set massive amounts of fruit.

Amazing

My kids and I planted some of these last summer. Just a couple vines as we were trying different varieties. These are so amazing! Everyone who tried them loved them! These have such a strawberry flavor to them, they are the most unique tomato we have ever tried. We love them and will definitely plant some more of these!
