Includes a wide assortment of endive and chicory. Mix these greens with baby leaf lettuce for gourmet salad full of texture and flavor. Best planted in the cooler season of spring and fall. Harvest individual leaves or wait for whole heads to form.

Germination: 4-10 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 60-70ºF. Soil temperatures above 80ºF inhibits germination.

Seed Sowing Depth: ¼ inch deep

Starting Indoors: Start 3-4 weeks before planting outside. Sow 2-3 seeds per cell/pot, thinning to one per cell/pot. Provide 60-70ºF soil temperatures. Transplant out during spring, 8-12” apart in rows 12” apart.

Sowing Outdoors: Spring when soil temperature reaches at least 50ºF. For full sized heads sow a few seeds every 2-4” apart, thin to 8-12”. Keep soil moist during germination. For baby greens sow heavy seeded rows, 30-40 seeds per foot. Sow every 2-3 weeks for a continuous harvest. 

How much does a packet plant: Full sized heads- 30 foot single row. Baby greens- 5 foot single row  

Harvest: Cut whole heads, full sized or baby at base or snipe off individual leaves.  

Tips: Grows best in spring and fall with temperatures under 70ºF. Plant in fertile, well drained soil. Amend with compost before planting if needed. Provide adequate, even moisture for the best growth. Mulching helps retain moisture.
