EARLY GIRL TOMATO (F1 hybrid 60 days)

Size
We have sold out of untreated Early Girl Tomato. It is only available now as treated seed. It is treated with the fungicide Thiram.

VF1 & 2 Indeterminate. Ask any greenhouse around here what the best selling tomato is, they will tell you Early Girl. Modest-sized plants mature rapidly and begin to yield 4-6 ounce fruit within a couple months of transplanting. Yield will continue to be good until frost, so this may be the only one you need. It is a nice juicy tomato with a rich red color, loose texture, and fine sweet flavor. 15 seeds.

PLANTING:

Indoors- 6 weeks before last frost, 1/4” deep with soil temperatures 75 degrees. Liquid fertilize seedlings every 7-10 days. Transplant out 24-36” apart after last frost when soil is 55-60 degrees and night temperatures are over 45 degrees.

Harvest- When fruit is red (or color of the variety planted) and firm.

Tips- Plant in fertile soil, amended with compost, mulch and provide even moisture. Plant deeper than they were growing in the containers as it makes a stronger roots system. Apply a light compost tea every few weeks. Do not apply excessive nitrogen, which can promote excessive foliage and poor fruit set.

Bumper Crop Every Time

I've been planting Early Girls for many, many years. My indoor grown sets are vigorous and covered in flowers when I put them out in the garden. There not big, but no matter the weather, I always get a bumper crop right up to the first.
