Dolce Fresca Basil

Shopping at Pinetree is always a treat. This new(to me) basil is very different than others I've grown. The flavor is sweeter, and a bit lemony. I didn't like it in pesto alone, but mixed with other basils (Genovese, etc) its lemony flavor was interesting. I also like it as a tea or in a summer drink. It has a tinier leaf than the broadleafed basils, and the plant grows very bushy and tall. It hasn't gone to seed quickly, and has regrown after I trimmed it back.

Dolce Fresca Basil

I grew Dolce Fresca Basil last season which I believe is a AAS Variety. This is a superior basil variety. It grew very well in my garden. It is a large leaf Italian type basil. I am growing it again this year and I recommend it. Dave Salamone Indianapolis, IN Johnson County Master Gardener
