A tornado felled a giant tree on my garden last spring, and by the time we got it cleared out it was too late to plant much. Fortunately I had started four of them indoors and transplanted them in July. They bloomed all summer providing colorful bouquets. The high winds we had all summer knocked them down, but they continued to bloom. They needed tomato cages which I did not have.. The plants are tough. Three seeds in a row that I'd planted before the tornado, came up in July through the hard packed earth where the tree had fallen. They bloomed beautifully in September, though the wind blew them down. My only complaint is that only about half the the plants had double flowers. The rest were single and not as pretty, but after our disaster I was happy to have any flowers at all. I'm planting a different variety this year, hoping to get more doubles.
