Chocolate Soldier Aquilea

This columbine runs about a foot tall and is covered with interesting brown and yellow flowers that hang like little bells. The blue green, frilly foliage looks good all season so this is a good choice for rock gardens. As with all Aquilegia, most perennial seed in fact, it is a good idea to chill the seed for a few weeks before planting.  20 seeds.

Starting Indoors/Outdoors:  Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Cold treat seed by sowing into moist soil or paper towel, wrap in a clear plastic bag and place in refrigerator for 2-3 weeks; then provide 65-75 degree temperatures until germination.

Soil Needs: Hummus rich, moist, well drained
