    So far ?

Because of our erratic weather, my plants are only about 7" tall as of 6/10. Right now they don't look like the plant I was replacing. No red color and no serrated edge to the leaves. We'll se how things mature.

    Love this plant!

This is not only a dramatic eye catching tropical looking plant but, and for me the best part, is that it will deter voles from getting into your garden and eating your beets and potatos and carrots. I have planted this in the north side of my vegetable garden and planted carrots and beets starting 4 feet away and have had no damage. At the same time my potatos at the other side of the garden were devoured! The plan this year is to ring the garden with this shorter and showier castor bean and then apply mole max (pelleted castor oil) directly over the root crops one time only until the castor plants are up enough to be a deterent.
