The excellent flavor, ease of harvest, and high fruit quality are the outstanding characteristics of Sunrise. Fruits are considered large, averaging 70 berries per cup with yields averaging 10 to 12 pounds per plant. Our grower has reintroduced this variety due to the high demand from U Pick Blueberry farmer Dan Childs-"U-Pick customers know when the Sunrise fruits are ripe and are waiting in line to harvest these fruits throughout its ripening season". Ripens early to mid-season. Grows 5-5 1/2 feet. Zones 4-7

PLANTING

Plant in loamy, well-drained soil, (pH should be 4.5-5.5) 4’-6’ apart. Blueberries are shallow-rooted, mulch heavily with a deep layer of acidic material, such as pine needles to keep weeds down. Remove all blossoms the first year to allow roots to establish themselves.

Blueberries

The Sunrise Blueberry plants both died shortly after planting. Patriot and Northland are doing fine.

Delicious

Plants arrived well packed and healthy, about 2 feet tall and leafy. I plucked off most of the flowers to let the plants focus on rooting this year but one plant did grow a few berries and they were absolutely delicious! Will be adding more of your blueberry plants to our orchard next year!
