BLACK HUNGARIAN PEPPER (80 days)

3

Germ 10-14 days
This is a jalapeno type pepper so the name is a bit misleading. 3” conical peppers change from green to a deep black and yields are heavy. Pungency is best described as medium-hot. 20 seeds

PLANTING:

Indoors- Start 8-10 weeks before last frost, 1/4” deep with soil temperatures 70-80 degrees. Liquid fertilize seedlings every 7-10 days. Transplant 18” apart when danger of frost has passed and when soil is 65 degrees.

Harvest- Using a sharp instrument, pick first fruits when they reach usable size, this helps accelerate the growth of the other peppers on the plant. Leave some on to mature, to color and sweeten up.

Tips- Plant in fertile, well composted soil, mulch and provide adequate water. It helps to use row cover early in the season giving the plants extra warmth, especially in the north. Side dress when flowers begin to form.

Awesome!

Beautiful plants, beautiful peppers the hold well into the red ripe stage. Excellent mildly hot flavor that is super sweet at the same time( in red ripe stage). I use them in salsa, on pizza, to make hot sauce, and for pickling, delicious pickled on nachos. Very easy to grow. The prettiest pepper plant in your garden

delicious!

Prolific, small (1 x 2 inch) peppers ripening to a beautiful crimson. Rich, sweet pepper flavor under the heat. Good for fresh salsa, pickling, and drying. Thinner walled than typical jalapenos. Will grow again.
