BELSTAR BROCCOLI (F1 hybrid 60 days) ORGANIC

3

Everyone was impressed with this hybrid in our trials. Maturity was exceptionally early with very tight light green heads, 5-6” across. At maturity it holds its head for over a week which can be a real virtue. Good flavor. 30 seeds

PLANTING:

Germination- 3-10 days

Indoors - 4-6 weeks before last frost and 1/4” deep with soil temperature at 65-75 degrees. Liquid fertilize seedlings every 7-10 days. Transplant out just before last frost.

Outdoors – Early spring until mid summer for fall crops. Plant 1/2” deep and 6” apart. Thin seedlings to 18” apart.

Harvest- Pick when heads are tight before flower buds starts to open. For varieties that produce side shoots keep picked for a longer production

Tips - A heavy feeder transplant/direct seed into well composted soil and side dress when buds begin to form.

Best Broccoli I've Found

I planted Belstar Broccoli the past two years and it has done superbly. After the initial head was harvested, it put out many side shoots all summer long and lasted until about December 1

How could I write a

How could I write a review in January, when I won't even start these seeds indoors until March! Ask me again in early summer after I have had a chance to see how the seeds germinate and grow once planted out! In general, I am very pleased with prompt delivery, condition of seeds, and great customer service when the occasional "oops" of too few seeds in packet or non germination occurs. Customer service is great in general. My only complaint is that too often, just as I find a "favorite" variety that does well in my garden, then the next year it is no longer available. "Bubbles" Brussel sprouts and "Premium Crop" broccoli come to mind.
