'VIOLET STARGAZER' Stunning 4” vivid purple flowers with a white bar down the center of each petal and a dark purple center. Incredibly long bloom time, June to September. ‘Violet Stargazer’ Makes a lovely cut flower and will tolerate some shade. Grows 8’-10’ Group 3 pruning. This group blooms on new wood in the summer and fall. This group simply requires the plant be cut down to about 12 inches in early springpreferably Feb-March. Zones 4-8. (2 Year Dormant).
Plant in well drained soil amended with compost. Provide a trellis for upward growth. Roots like to be kept ‘cool’ and this is accomplished by placing stones at base, mulching or planting a ground cover around the base of the plant. But the most practical way is to simply not let the root system get dry and keep them well watered (but not standing water please).
