The Wasabi Arugula has a sharp, tangy bite with an aftershock of wasabi. Cultivated to have the close intenseness of wasabi’s heat this natural variety was created by growing out generations and selecting for the most concentrated flavor. Deep green spoon-shaped leaves with slightly toothed edges can be sowed multi times during the summer.

PLANTING

Diplotaxis erucoides

Germination: 3-7 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 60-70ºF

Seed Sowing Depth: 1/8 inch deep

Sowing Outdoors: Early spring through late summer and fall. Sow a few seeds every 1-2" apart, Thin to 4-6" apart. Sow every 2-3 weeks for a continuous harvest. 

How much does a packet plant: 25-foot single row  

Harvest: Start cutting leaves at  2-4". 

Tips: The Wasabi Arugula should be planted in fertile, well-drained soil. Work in compost or well-rotted manure into your soil before planting if needed. Provide adequate, even moisture for the best growth. Use row cover to control flea beetles. When arugula bolts the flowers are edible and attract pollinators
