HEALTHY BLEND MIX (1 oz)

Micro greens have recently become the rage in trendy restaurants. These can easily be grown in a window box, on your deck, or even indoors in a sunny location in the dead of winter. We have developed these mixes to enhance your salads year-round and all can be grown in regular potting soil in just about any sort of low, flat container. Sow the seeds close together and it won't be long before you see growth. When the third set of leaves begin to develop you can start to take cuttings. You can continue to take cuttings every few days for several weeks. This mix includes broccoli, spinach, a number of lettuces and kale. 1 oz

Growing Healthy Blend indoors in January

I ordered Healthy Blend for my first try at growing microgreens. I grew them indoors in a smallish container in a south-facing window in Iowa in January. Despite the fact that the room wasn't very warm (mid-60's F) and the days were short, the results were pleasing. We got some garnishes and a two small servings of salad. Very tasty and healthy! They were a little leggy due to insufficient light. I look forward to growing them again often when the days are longer.

Growing greens indoors in the winter.

I planted the green seeds in a tray that was inside a tray. The starting soil was about 2 inches deep. I had good germination and they grew nicely under T-5 bulbs. They made nice salads mixed with cukes and tomatoes. Have stopped growing greens for now. Am growing tomato plants for the garden now.
