Braising Greens Mix (1 oz)

The Braising Greens Mix emphasizes a variety of mustards, kale, and tatsoi. "Braising" is a method of cooking tender vegetables in a minimum amount of water or liquid, sometimes just to the point of wilting them. The result with this mix is a spicy one and will enhance your diet year-round.

PLANTING

Germination: 3-7 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 70-75ºF.

Sowing: Sow the seeds very close together. 1/8-1/4" apart. Press into soil, cover lightly

What To Grow In: Directly in the garden or for micro/baby greens use seed starting trays, 20 row seedling flat, or any sort of low, flat container

Soil: Use a regular potting mix or soilless medium or grow directly in the garden

Lighting:  Adding supplemental lighting with grow lights during the winter will help with stronger, less leggy growth. They can easily be grown in the garden, on a deck/patio, or even a sunny spot in your house during the rest of the year.

Days to Harvest: 7-10 days microgreens, 20-30 baby greens

Harvest:Microgreens-Start cutting when the first true leaves appear or when they reach 1 1/2-2 inches. Baby greens- cut at 3-4"

Growing Tips: Maintain good air flow for the Braising Greens Mix by not over sowing seeds and by watering lightly. Over watered soil and overly dense sowing with no air flow can cause damping off. For a continuous harvest of micro greens sow every 7-10 days.
