Ensete ventricosum

Slow to germinate but dependable. After germination the plants grow at the rate of half a foot a month. A spectacular house plant or for outdoor foliage with green leaves on a reddish stem, can grow to a height of 10 feet.  3 seeds

Annual

Germination: 2-26 weeks, sporadically

Seed Planting Depth: Sow 1/2" deep

Starting Indoors/Outdoors: Start indoors 10-12 weeks before last frost or sooner. Nick then soak seed for 48 hrs in warm water, then provide 75 degree soil temperature.

Height and Width:  3-10' x 3-10'

Spacing:  3-8'

Light Needs:  Sun

Soil Needs:  Fertile and well drained

Uses:  Foliage plant, houseplant  

Care: Overwintering is possible in a frost free greenhouse

banana seeds

bought 6. have them planted and keep them moist. Have been planted bout a mouth. followed your instructions on FB. One has sprouted and is about to form a leaf. I am all excited!

excellent germination

ive ordered these seeds from other companies with some luck. this time after 3 weeks most have roots and half have popped above the soil. I did scarify and provide bottom heat as well as soaking and darkness till they germinated
