Lincoln Pea (Heirloom, 65 Days)

Heirloom before 1908. This variety has been popular in New England for generations. 3” pods contain 8-9 relatively small peas. Flavor is very sweet. They yield throughout July on 2 1/2’ vines.

1 Ounce = 135-155 seeds

Pisum sativum

Germination: 7-14 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 50-75ºF. Planting in cooler soil results in slower germination.

Seed Sowing Depth: 1" deep

Sowing Outdoors- Early spring until last frost date when soil temperature reaches 50-75ºF. Sow 1-2" apart. Sow two months before last frost date for smaller fall harvests.

How much does a packet plant: 12-15 foot single row

Harvest- Pick every day for continuous harvest.

Tips- Adding inoculant with rhizobium bacteria will increase yields. Varieties with vine lengths over 3 feet require support.

Plant Lincoln Peas

This is the first year I have gotten a decent row of peas in several years. The Lincoln Peas germinated very well, and are now filling pods. We'll have plenty to eat fresh and some for the freezer. Thanks for your good service Pine tree Gardens!

It's Easy

Completely Non-noteworthy: they sent an email revealing that they had new seeds for sale, I looked them over. I emailed them with three questions, I received an email in return early the following day, I ordered seeds, some were back ordered. Each time an item a back-ordered shipment arrived they sent an email advising that it was in stock; I would fill an order and Presto: all set! Pinetree is small, local, friendly and helpful. I have dealt with them for years, if you have not then you should. John G

Lincoln Peas

This was good. I was too late to buy Lincoln pea seeds close to home. Fortunately Pinetree had them. I was late getting them in the ground but harvested peas until a few days ago, and hope to plant more for a fall harvest.

Lincoln Peas

These germinate and produce really well - a shelling pea, I always freeze them for enjoyment through the winter.
