CaryophyllusIf you love to grow cut flowers then this uncommon, extremely fragrant, lovely pastel yellow dianthus is for you. Fully double flowers that bloom the first year on long sturdy stems when started indoors in January/February. A superb cut flower that is a vigorous heavy bloomer. Grows to 24" in height.

PLANTING

Dianthus gratianoplitanus

Perennial, Zones 6-9

Germination: 7-10 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 65-75ºF

Seed Planting Depth: Sow on surface and lightly cover seeds

Starting Indoors: Start indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost. Provide 65-75ºF soil temperature. Transplant after the last frost, 10-12" apart. 

Sowing Outdoors: Direct sowing is not recommended for flowers in the first season.
