Blue black seedless
This seedless hybrid was developed in 1983 by Californian grape breeders. It's a cross between Thompson and Concord grapes and released in 2003. The aromatic, "labrusca" flavor of the Concord and the delicate sweet taste of the Thompson has make the Thomcord a favorite table grape. It will grow quite well in hot, dry regions and is very resistant to powdery mildew. The dark blue-black grape ripens late July to mid-August. Hardy to zone 5.
Grow grapes in a sunny area on a support and keep well watered the first year. You do not have to wait for a frost to harvest grapes, as they will begin to ripen in late summer or early fall. We sell 2 year old no. 1 plants and these varieties are hardy to zones 4-5. Grapes take about 2 years to begin fruiting.
