Grow your own sweet potatoes! High in vitamins A & C, as well as beta-carotene, sweet potatoes are a nutritious food source. Plants grow best in a sandy loam soil and will thrive with minimal rainfall. All plants mature within 90-100 days. Plant in rows that are 3 ft. apart and 8 to 10 inches high. Space plants 10 to 18 inches apart and 3 to 4 inches deep.
Sweet potato plants are sold in 12 plant increments.We are offering four varieties, which will be shipped direct to you from the grower. As sweet potatoes cannot withstand frost, plants will be shipped according to customer’s last frost date as determined by our grower. April, May, and early June are shipping months. Plants arrive with growing directions and some tasty recipes. Our grower suggests gardeners in Northern states use black plastic mulch, covering bedded rows 2-3 weeks before plants arrive, to warm the soil and aid growth. Sorry we cannot ship to California, Alaska, Hawaii, or Foreign Countries.
