A favorite for over 60 years, this variety is thought of as the best for jams and freezing. Flavor and quality are excellent with small/medium fruit. Highly recommended for home gardens or roadside stands in northern climates. Zones 3-8
Planting: Plants should be set out in early spring. Space 1 to 2 feet apart. Abundant yields of fruit occur in the second year. In succeeding years, it is important to thin plants to allow new growth for continued yield. Do not grow strawberries where tomatoes or other nightshades have grown recently as these soils may be infected with verticillium wilt.
Strawberry plants are shipped from Mid-March through early May. At the time of your order, you may request a shipping date. All Spring orders should be placed prior to March 14th.
