|Short Description||An economical alternative to vermiculite and peat moss, this organic growing medium is derived from the middle layer of the coconut that is specially extracted with the lowest salt index available. It can retain 8-9 times its weight in water and has a high nutrient absorption capacity and a ph of 5.4-6.8. It may be used alone, for conditioning soils such as clay for better root penetration, aeration and drainage and in sandy soils, where its texture will bond to the grains, helping to retain moisture. It can also be used for sowing seed, root cuttings, mulching lawns, vegetables, and flowers. Fill a container with 1 1/2 gallons of water per brick and allow 15 minutes for hydration. Thoroughly fluff up and it's ready for planting. Makes 2-2 1/2 gallons of planting medium. Easy for storage and handling, each brick measures 8" X 3.5" X 2.75" and is individually shrink wrapped.|
